'Aumua Mata'itusi Simanu is a life-long educator and scholar of the Sāmoan Language and Culture. She worked for the Department of Education in Sāmoa for 45 years. Since 1987 she has been teaching Sāmoan Oratory and History at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa.
